El video ejemplifica uno de los muchos momentos de una asamblea. Toman la palabra portavoces y personas corrientes. Fue la primera asamblea multitudinaria que vi, unas 200 personas congregadas tras la concentración de protesta del 17M por lo ocurrido los dos días anteriores. Comenzaba la Spanish Revolution. Lo impresionante no era la asamblea de 200 matados a las 3 de la mañana, sino que funcionaba. Que la componíamos gentes de todas ideologías y edades que nunca habíamos visto una asamblea y que comprobamos que participar en ella no era tan dificil: hablar por turnos, respetar, votar y llegar a puntos en común.

Avanzado el video, un hombre intenta provocar una escisión y la gente se mantiene sorprendentemente unida. "El pueblo unido jamás será vencido". Se respetan los turnos de palabras y se utiliza el lenguaje de sordos para no interrumpir una asamblea con escasos medios sonoros. Todo puro civismo, todo buenas maneras. Las asambleas se irán dividiendo en minicomisiones abiertas. Se crearán baños improvisados, una comisión para repartir comida, otra mantas e infraestructura... A la larga incluso aparecerán paneles solares, un huerto, baños portátiles, biblioteca, guardería... La policía nos mira, impasible, pero no les damos ni una excusa. Se canta a la no-violencia, se regaña a los exaltados y a los que quieren convertir esto en un bar. El sábado llegaremos entre 30000 y 70000 a ocupar Sol y plazas aledañas. Todo Madrid se ha pasado por la asamblea y ha visto como funciona. Algo ya hemos logrado, creernos las ideas "utópicas". Me dan pena lo que creen utópico el hablar y dialogar, porque significa que nos consideran burros (y a ellos mismos).

ENGLISH: The Spanish Revolution

On Sunday 15th May Madrid expierienced a demonstration of the platform Democracia Real Ya against the current legal, economic and parliamentary system of some 20000 people. Reforms were demanded, but the demonstration turned into a cut of Gran Via and a pacific sitting in the centric Callao Square. That's civil disobedience and a great example if it's Gandhi. In the West it's justifying a police charge. Even when there were common families and people of all ages... Some containers got burned and they caught 19 people... the first ones they got, innocent or not, who lived a night of terror and torture in Police Station (literally).

I thought 'that's other one they repress'. A few ones decided to camp (stay sitting) in Sol (central point of Madrid and Spain). On the second day, they were moved out by the police, even though they were being peaceful and did not resist. That was enough. Now you cannot even sit in a street? Democracy, where? On Tuesday 17th I found 2000-10000 people in Sol protesting. 50 were moved out. Thousends wanted to camp now. You can do it to see a concert of Justin Beiber, or to go to the new Apple Store, but no to protest? Tahrir Squares in Europe? That's the Assambly that took place on that first concentration and that endure longer than anyone could have imagined! Peoples of the World! Mimic us in your streets please!

The vid is an example of one of the many moments of the assembly. Spokesmen and common people take word. It was my first multitudinary assambly; some 200 people joined after the 17th protest. The impressive thing was not the 200 at 3 in the morning. It was that the assambly was working. The impressive thing was that those 200 people were common people, of every ideology and age, most of us who had not even seen an assambly before. We found out that it was not complicated to make it work: just speak in turns, respect the other's words, vote and reach common points.
